Carol and Steve had a lovely family home that they had lived in for 26 years. The spacious semi-detached house built in the 1930’s had 4 double size bedrooms and had been their family home for a long time.
However with the family having moved out, the home just seemed too large for them and their thoughts started to turn towards downsizing. Their first thought was to explore the option of a bungalow, but the combination of price point and how much work would invariable need doing within the home to bring it up to the standards that they would like was a little off putting.
Living in Longlevens, Orchard Park in Twigworth was only around 3 miles away, and as they were passing one day they were inspired to take a better look.
The service provided by Helen, the park manager, was the first thing to impress Carol and Steve and the park itself was just what they were looking for. Helen showed them around including inside a residents Regency Classic. This home was their inspiration, it was just what they were looking for.
The next step was for them to do two things…. Firstly put their house up for sale and secondly to visit Tingdene’s Visitor Centre to discuss the design of their new park home.
Carol and Steve commented that the Visitor Centre was “excellent”. It provided them with all the information that they needed, along with a good selection of furniture and furnishings to choose from.
While they were visiting they also took the opportunity to take a guided Factory Tour, which they found “very good” “everything was first class”
They were amazed when their house sold in a matter of days, so they moved into rent free accommodation on the park while their new Regency Classic was being built.
Carol and Steve moved into their new home at the beginning of June 2016. Having moved into their home their comments about the new lifestyle and park were “that it was a lovely community, a good quality of life, it was safe to leave their home as neighbours looked out for each other.”
A lot of their expenses have also been reduced, for example council tax, and heating costs as they are finding their new home so warm. The home itself, they said, “feels light and airy, it feels like they are permanently on holiday”.
Steve was also thrilled that they had released equity from the house enabling them to have funds behind them for the future and also to enable them to enjoy their new found leisure time.
Having been married for 36 years, it is now time for them to relax a bit more and enjoy not only time with their 3 children and 2 grandchildren, but also time for their hobbies which include for Golf and Fishing for Steve, while Carol is busy helping with the school run among other things. Also time for their motorhome in which they enjoy travelling to France and Spain.
