As the New Year begins and Christmas is now a distant memory, everyone is looking forward to a fun packed 2020 on all of our parks.

Looking back to 2o19, our residents were involved in so may new ventures and activities, we wanted to share just a few that were on offer and show that making new friends on our parks, is as easy as one, two, three.

Blunsdon Abbey Park residents opened up their Social Hall for residents new and old and also created their own dance squad of ladies for the recent Halloween party, who learned the moves to “Thriller”.   Their costumes were fantastic and their nimble footwork was an accurate portrayal of the moves from the famous video.   Something that Michael Jackson, (we are sure), would have been over the moon with.  We can’t wait to see the men with their “Not Quite Full Monty!!.  The mind boggles, but all in the best possible taste of course.

At Orchard Park Gloucester, with the newly established Social team and their new Social Hub, planned activities are getting off the ground very well. From weekly coffee mornings, monthly fish and chip suppers and a fabulous meal for all to attend, at Wall’s Club Gloucester for their Christmas celebrations, they are filling their NOT SO spare time extremely well.   New activities are invited to be put forward, in the suggestion box in the Social Hub so everything can be considered and planned for.

Recent naming of the new social room at Orchard Park

Not forgetting the golf amateurs that now find themselves to be hitting a ball (or FOUR), rather well at the local golf course and a bite or two or three, winning the day at the local fishing lake.  What a way to while a way the long summer days and cooler autumn evenings.

The residents also have a very well attended Craft Club and the ladies (and gentlemen) have recently got together for a demonstration on Computer Aided Sewing.  They also tasked themselves to create beautiful crocheted and knitted blankets for the local retirement home and hats and gloves knitted for the homeless.  Well done to all the ladies (and the men of course for back room support) for working so tirelessly to provide these much needed gifts before Christmas.

Lets get sewing – a Craft demonstration at Orchard Park for the popular monthly Craft Group

Both of the parks that are under redevelopment, are very happy places to live, with new and old residents coming together and sharing their time with each other.  Living on a park is a great way to be able to socialise with neighbours of the same age, with the same interests and ensure that each and every day is a day to remember and many new friends and memories to make.    What better way to find out more than to  pop along to either park to ask about Park Home Life and have a chat with the residents during one of their events.  You will be greeted with a very warm welcome and a lovely hot cuppa and biscuits.

2020 is the year for you to make the move to a new way of Park Home Life.  Don’t miss out on your forever new home.  Call 01793 722100 for more details or check out our availability pages.
