Restrictions across the UK have now lifted and events are starting to be held again, there are many ways you take begin to enjoy some of the freedoms that we now have and summer is the perfect time to get out an explore. Depending on what your hobbies and interests are, there are some great ways to make the most out of the outdoors.
Sports – outdoor sports are popular with people of all ages and across Gloucestershire there are some wonderful options available. If you are a fan of golf you could visit Star Golf at Ullenwood and enjoy a round or two with a group of friends. There are many other courses in the area such as Brickhampton and Cotswold Hills Golf Club depending on your location and skill level.
Places to visit – if you love visiting gardens and houses then the National Trust and English Heritage have some wonderful sites in Gloucestershire. Chedworth Roman Villa for example gives you the opportunity to get up close to the beautiful mosaics that were found on the site as well as taking the opportunity to explore some of the surrounding landscapes. Or perhaps you would prefer a walk around the Rococo Gardens where you can see the landscape of Gloucester of Cheltenham in the beautiful gardens.
Wildlife exploration – if enjoying nature is of more interest to you a visit to Slimbridge might be just the day out you have been looking for. Here you can see birds of all kinds as well as coming across lots of different wildlife including insects that have made the wetlands area their home.
Walking – with Rodborough and Minchinhampton Commons close by, and the Cotswold Way weaving its way through the county, there are endless walks that take you through quaint Gloucestershire villages and give you beautiful views of the landscapes and vistas that the area has become known for.
